With just days to go before the end of the year, many have been speculating whether the current Transport Pass discounts will remain the same for next year. It should be recalled that the current term expires on December 31 of this year. However, and thanks to today’s confirmation by the Central Government, public transport users in Madrid will continue to enjoy significant price reductions on their fares in 2024.
It was last June that both the Government and the Community of Madrid confirmed the extension of the subsidies for season tickets and multi-journey tickets for public and interurban transport in the Community.
These subsidies consisted of a rebate of one 60% of transport ticket pricesbeing a 30% from the Central Government and the other 30% from Madrid.The prices range from 22 to 53 euros for the different areas that make up the community.
The Madrid executive, together with the President of the Government, has finally confirmed the extension of these subsidies until June 2024, with the addition that they will be free of charge for minors, young people between 18 and 30 years of age, retirees and the unemployed. This has been decided by the central government, following the agreement between Sumar and PSOE.
In this way, the prices for the Transport Season Tickets of the Community of Madrid will be as follows
- Zone A Pass: 21.80 euros.
- Zone B1 Pass: 25.40 euros.
- B2 Zone Pass: 28.80 euros.
- B3 Zone Pass: 32.80 euros.
- Zone C1 Pass: 32.80 euros.
- C2 Zone Pass: 32.80 euros.
- E1 Zone Pass: 44.20 euros.
- E2 Zone Pass: 52.70 euros.
- Youth Season Ticket (up to 26 years old) all zones: 8 euros.
- 10-trip pass (Zone A, EMT, ML1): 6.10 euros.
- 10-trip pass with ML2 and ML3: 9.10 euros.
