How do you get the Youth Card in Madrid?

Reaching 54,000 new users since January, the Madrid Community Youth Card has become even more popular due to the great benefits it offers for young people up to 30 years of age.

According to Telemadrid, 256 new people subscribe to this service every day. The Youth Card is free and is aimed at people between 14 and 30 years of age.

In addition to the discounts, there are many activities and plans that are free in Madrid when you have the Card. Currently, there are more than 542,900 people who are holders of this document, that is, 43% of the entire Madrid population of the age range for which the Card is aimed.

In addition, the now Community of Madrid Youth Card also has its mobile version.

There are some 2,000 establishments that currently collaborate with the Youth Card, allowing exclusive discounts to be obtained in places such as the Warner Park, the Amusement Park and the Aquopolis, as well as sporting events, in theaters, cinemas, lodging and in different businesses.

In order to obtain it, one of the fundamental requirements is that you need to be between 14 and 30 years old and reside in Madrid. Also, depending on whether you request it online or in person, you will need your ID or a digital certificate.

Here we explain the two ways to obtain it:

  • In person. If you are under 18, this is your option. You only need to bring your ID or an equivalent document.
You must go to the Community of Madrid Youth Office (Moncloa): Hours from Monday to Friday: 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the months of April to September and 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the months of October to March. No prior appointment is necessary.

In addition to what we have mentioned above, the Youth Card has many advantages and activities that are discounted with the use of this document. We leave you some so you can take advantage of it:

  • Free access to the swimming pools of the community of Madrid. Although there is little left for these to close, you can enjoy them every year, since you do not need to renew your title.
  • Castillo de Manzanares el Real: The free tickets for the Castillo de los Mendoza are an opportunity to see the theater shows that take place inside from Tuesday to Sunday.
  • The permanent exhibitions and the temporary ones at the Reina Sofía Museum and the CaixaForum in Madrid can be 100% free.

  • If you are not a student and the only way to visit the Prado Museum is to do it after 7:00 p.m., where there are usually long queues, with the Youth Card you can enjoy a 50% discount and the general admission of 15 euros will remain at 7.50.
  • Travel with Alsa: with the Youth Card you can enjoy up to 15% discount on trips.

We leave you the official website of the Youth Card where you can find all the discounts and active promotions associated with this document.
