There is little time left for the arrival of 2025. After the first festive days of Christmas Eve and Christmas, another of the most popular traditions of the capital is approaching, the celebration of New Year’s Eve at the Puerta del Sol and the clock that strikes the 12 bells for the arrival of 2025.
Prior to the celebration of the New Year, a pre-evea party will be held on Monday, December 30, a dress rehearsal for the big party that will be held on December 31.
The total capacity for each festive day is 15,000 people, so the square will begin to be vacated from 9:00 pm.
Included in the ‘Plan Navidad 2025’, both the preúvas and the grapes have a security device of 800 agents, in charge of the City of Madrid, and no access or evacuation is allowed by the Sol station from 18.00 h (although it is possible to circulate inside it, because the train traffic and connections are not suspended).
Once the Puerta del Sol is cleared (during both dates), the square can be accessed through Alcalá, Carrera de San Jerónimo, Mayor and Arenal streets, until the permitted capacity is reached. Pre-filters and filters will be set up in these streets, in order to count the people entering the square and not to exceed the maximum number.
