With the arrival of November, the countdown begins to welcome the Madrid Christmas Lighting and with it the end of the year festivities. Like every year, within all the activities, parties and decorations, there are things that always distinguish Christmas in the capital; the giant tree of Puerta del Sol, the Christmas Market of Plaza Mayor, and in recent years, the big christmas ball that had been placed on Gran Vía.
For 2023, the great Christmas Ball leaves its usual place at the intersection of Calle de Alcalá and Gran Vía, to be located this year in the renovated Plaza de España, near the Sabatini Gardens.
This was announced by the delegate of Works and Equipment of the Madrid City Council, Paloma García Romero, who also mentioned that more news that this Christmas Lighting 2023 will bring will be announced.
Regarding the Christmas trees, it has been confirmed that there will not be a natural Christmas tree in Plaza de España. We will be sharing all the news that this Christmas will bring to Madrid for 2023.
