For a few weeks now, some of the Christmas lights are already being set up in the capital and although some details of the lighting of this 2024 have already been revealed, there are still many surprises to be known for this Christmas. Almost 12 million 100% LED bulbs will decorate more than 230 sites in the 21 districts of Madrid.
One of the most outstanding novelties of this Christmas in Madrid is that among the lights, there will be designs by children of first and second grade of primary school, who participated in a contest organized by the City Council of Madrid.
The city of Madrid will once again be decked out with chains, cherry trees and large luminous fir trees, among other Christmas motifs.
When will be the Christmas lights switch-on in Madrid?
The Christmas lights will be switched on in Madrid in 2024 on Thursday, November 28 in a big event that will take place in Puerta del Sol. This year the person in charge of turning on the capital’s Christmas lights will be the national soccer coach Luis de la Fuente.
