How to obtain the Youth Card of the Community of Madrid

The Community of Madrid Youth Card is a free tool that allows young people between the ages of 14 and 30 to access a wide range of discounts and benefits both in the region and in the rest of Spain and in more than 37 European countries. In 2025, this card will continue to offer benefits in areas such as transportation, culture, leisure, education, and travel. Requirements and procedures to obtain the Youth Card

To apply for the Youth Card in 2025, you must be between 14 and 30 years old and reside in the Community of Madrid. You don’t need to be registered as a resident of the city, but you must provide an address in the region. The card is free and valid until the holder turns 31. There are several ways to obtain it:

  • Online: Through the Community of Madrid’s “Digital Account,” using the IDentifica digital identification system. Once the process is complete, the digital ID is stored in the Digital Account’s cardholder.
  • In person: By visiting the Youth Offices of the Community of Madrid (Moncloa and General Díaz Porlier) or any of the more than 60 municipalities with issuing points. You must present your ID, passport, or residence card. The card will be issued on the spot.
  • CaixaBank branches: Present a photocopy of your ID or residence card. The digital card is received by email, and if requested in physical form, it is sent by post in approximately one week.

Additionally, there’s the option of the Young Financial Card, which includes debit and credit functions and is available at CaixaBank branches and on the Imagin app or website.

Advantages and discounts associated with this card

The Youth Card offers a wide variety of discounts and benefits that will delight users. As you can see on its official website, there are numerous offers, and they are increasing in number. Below are the most relevant ones:

  • Transportation: Starting July 1, 2025, young people aged 15 to 25 will be able to purchase a monthly transportation pass for 10 euros, representing a 50% discount.
  • Culture and leisure: Free admission to museums such as the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum, CaixaForum, and the Reina Sofía National Art Center, among others. Discounts are also offered at cinemas, theaters, and cultural centers.
  • Training: Discounts on language courses, online training, and driving schools.
  • Sports: Discounts on organized sports activities at facilities such as the Puerta de Hierro Sports Park and free entry to outdoor pools during the summer.
  • Travel: Discounts on accommodations, youth hostels, and travel assistance insurance
