Surrounded by mountains, pine forests and fresh high altitude air, the Jarosa reservoir is an ideal place to disconnect from the hustle and bustle of Madrid and immerse yourself in nature. Its environment offers simple and panoramic routes that combine water, mountains and history.

🌍 Did you know that the Jarosa reservoir was built in 1968 and is the only one in the Sierra de Guadarrama? In addition, the medieval village of La Herrería, whose remains can only be seen in times of drought, was submerged under its waters. Walking here is also walking on history!

🌿 Walk Details The route will be of moderate slope but affordable for everyone. We will walk around the reservoir, enjoying the views of the water surrounded by pines and oaks, and we will stop at one of the recreational areas to enjoy a relaxing picnic with spectacular views with spectacular views and resume our way back.

How to get there? All our routes are accessible by public transport. We will go by bus, but if you have a car, you can bring it and share the gas costs with other hikers.

IMPORTANT

We will go by public transport, so bring cash for the bus, (approx 3 euros one way and 3 euros return) which is not included in the price (under 26 years old free with Transport Pass). If you have your own car, you can bring it and take other participants with you to share the gas.
