The 3 Verbenas of Madrid
A year and a half after the strongest months of the Pandemic, in Spain the festivities and celebrations of each province are start to beginning Historically, August in Madrid, in addition to being one of the strong months of vacations, is also known as a month of summer celebrations, bringing with it 3 amazing festivities; The Festivities of San Cayetano, San Lorenzo and La Paloma.
San Cayetano Festivity
Friday 6 and Saturday 7 of August
For this year, the first of the 3 festivities will be held in La Plaza del General Vara del Rey, beginning this Friday, August 6 at 8:00 p.m. with the performance of the singer and composer Mario Vaquerizo who will be “Pregonero”who will start the celebrations.
At 20:30 it will be the turn of the “Castizas” with Laura Gonzales, known as Goher (on August 6), and the mix of Opera and Zarzuela led by Teresa García (on August 7). Likewise, the groups Tennessee and The Refrescos will put on the Rock and Roll touch from 10:15 pm.

San Lorenzo Festivity
August 10 and 11
A few days after the San Cayetano festivities, we will have the commemoration of San Lorenzo, born in Huesca and one of the most trusted men of the Supreme Pontiff. These celebrations will be concentrated in Lavapiés, since it is here where a church was built in the name of San Lorenzo.
This church was built so that the parishioners did not have to travel to San Sebastián, and since then, every August 10, the saint was taken in procession to the Tirso de Molina square, leaving behind a trail of festivals and traditional costumes.
Curious fact:around this time, one of the most amazing meteor showers of the year always takes place, the Perseidas, which are also called the Lagrimas de San Lorenzo.

18 performances and concerts have been scheduled, with 6 on each stage. A part of this will be the “Castizas”, others for families and children’s type and the section of rock, pop and jazz concerts for all audiences.
La Paloma Festivities
August 14 and 15
Along with the previous ones, this is considered one of the most important summer festivals in Madrid.
Commemorating the Virgen de la Paloma, these festivities come to an end with a tribute to this patron. The image of this Virgin is found in the Barrio de la Latina, in the center of the altarpiece of the Virgen de la Paloma and San Pedro el Real. Every August 15, and being the official patron of the Madrid Firefighters, a firefighter picks her up to carry out a procession throughout the neighborhood and then place her on the altar again.
This year the Paloma Festivities will be celebrated in the Soccer Field of the Jardines de las Vistillas. The capacity will be limited and there will be access controls.
This year the music will begin with Mari Pepa de Chamberí (on August 14 at 20:30) and the rock segment will be in charge of the Guard(22:15).

COVID measures:
Unlike previous years, where large groups of people gathered to drink and eat in the streets, this year the festivities will be celebrated with restrictions such as:
- Mask all time
- There will be no processions
- There will be no open bars outside the bars, no food
- Parties and crowds in front of locals are forbidden
