The Comunidad de Madrid will receive 1,200 vaccines this Saturday, December 26, and vaccination against Covid-19 will begin on Sunday 27. The subsequent distribution will be made weekly, every Monday Madrid will receive 48,750 doses during 12 weeks, according to the commitment made by the Ministry of Health.
¿Who will get the vaccines first?
Regarding the administration of the vaccine, Andradas, the general director of Public Health has said that it will be carried out first to the elderly in residences and to the personnel who takes care of them, as well as to residents and workers of disability centers, then they will be administered among “front-line” health personnel, that is, professionals in Primary Care, Emergencies, Intensive Care Units, Summa 112 emergencies and those assigned to Covid plants. Later it will be the turn of the rest of the social and health personnel and the so-called large dependents.
Two doses are needed. The second is injected 21 days after the first is put in.
So as far as most of the population will not recive the vaccine yet, all the measures taken by the goverment in the last few months such as wearing facemasks, keeping distance, limited number of people in one place, curfew, etc. will remain the norm.
