After two and a half years of work and remodeling, the new Plaza España will open its doors again on Monday, November 22, giving rise to a green environment of 70,000 square metersand in which more than a thousand trees have been planted.

 

Likewise, the renovated Plaza España will constitute a pedestrian crossing that goes from the Royal Palace of Madrid to the Temple of Debod, including the Jardines del Sabatini and Campo del Moro.

 

On the same day of the opening, vehicular traffic will also be enabled in the new Bailen-Ferraz tunnel that will give access to the slopes of San Vicente, thus connecting Gran Vía and the M30.

The opening will coincide with the 2021 Christmas Holidays, soa 30-meter-high fir tree will be exhibited in Plaza España that will be adorned with 800 Christmas balls of different sizes and 200 candies, in addition to 150 luminous strings.
