Hiking & swim Hervidero Waterfall – Sunday, June 29th

Our next hiking adventure sounds absolutely magical! ✨ We’re off to explore a fairy tale forest, tracing the beautiful Guadalix River until we reach the stunning, crystal-clear Cascada del Hervidero. This is truly one of Madrid’s best routes, taking us through some of the region’s most breathtaking yet lesser-known natural beauty. 🏞️

Did you know San Agustín del Guadalix has a rich past? It’s been home to Iberians, Romans, and Visigoths and was under Arab rule for almost two centuries! 📜

Hike Details 🚶‍♀️🌳

Midway through our journey, we’ll hit pause for a relaxing picnic. Think good food, great company, and incredible views before we start our return. This is an easy-level hike, covering about 12 km with hardly any elevation change—perfect for everyone! And here’s the best part: don’t forget your swimsuit! 👙 We’ll make a refreshing stop at the waterfall on the way back to beat the Madrid heat. ☀️

• Participation: Just €15! Pay €5 online to reserve your spot and the remaining €10 in cash to your guide on the day. (Heads up: transport isn’t included).

Getting There 🚌🚗

All our routes are easily accessible by public transport, so remember to bring some cash for the bus fare. If you’ve got a car, feel free to bring it and share the gas costs with fellow adventurers. Plus, if you have an “abono joven,” your bus ride is FREE! 🎉

Quick Tips for a Great Day! 👍

1. Wear comfy walking or hiking boots/sneakers. Your feet will thank you! 👟
2. Bring at least 1.5 liters of water. Stay hydrated! 💧
3. Pack some food for lunch (a sandwich, fruit, snacks, etc.). 🥪🍎
4. Don’t forget sunscreen to protect your skin. 🧴
